Hi all, In reference to the thread below, I was approved for the Green card two days ago. With Saar's invaluable help wrt to a Blue reconsideration, I was approved for the Blue card per their automated system. Thank you, Saar. Normally, I would be jumping off the ceiling with joy, since a Blue approval would mean that I have met my personal credit goals, but I am concerned by Roni's discussion of having been approved and then declined for a Delta Skymiles Card. Breeze mentioned in that thread that several people on CreditNet have horror stories of fake approvals from AmEx. My question: how does one know the difference? If the computer message says that you were approved, is that considered to be written in stone? I was thrown off earlier today, b/c I called regular customer service after hearing my automated approval, and she said that there was no reference at all to the Blue card on her screen, though she could confirm the Green card. But then, I just called the MORE team who told me that both cards were definitely approved (the Blue is $2000 credit limit) and that I have account numbers for both and they didn't understand why the first rep said that! What gives? http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra...hreadid=16649&perpage=20&pgnum=4&pagenumber=1
Well you probably already know my story. My problem was with that stupid secured Optima card. I would call to cancel it and they (to keep me as a customer) would promise me cards that never arrived. It was a crazy ordeal. How I got approved for the Gold Delta SkyMiles card is beyond me! I've decided to just be happy with what I have now (Optima Platinum) and leave it at that. If MORE said you were approved for both and already have account numbers, then you're in the door.
MP$40, I'm glad that you got the Optima Platinum card. I know it looks good on ya'. I hope that my approvals are real. I guess I just won't believe it until I get my cards in my hands. I did call MORE to ask for a CL increase on the Blue from $2K to $9K. MORE said they couldn't do it and transferred me to another department. They asked income info (they had me down for the minimum $29K income based on the 29K to 50K bracket I filled out - so now I know they assume you have the lowest income in the bracket you choose on the application). I told them the correct income. Anyway, I'll know in 48 hours whether the CL increase was approved. I guess it is real, since the MORE lady said that she'd give the other lady my Blue account number even though she couldn't tell me over the phone. Saar -I can't thank you enough for your help. Anxiously waiting,
