What is the minmum score to obtain a Famous Barr card? I want to get one more retail card and then just let my accounts age.
Well I dont know what the minimum score is but they recently denied me. My credit history is arond a year old and they said I had insufficent credit history. Also they said I have multiple deliquent acconts which I DO NOT. I even verified with TU on the phone and they told me that they did not report anything being deliquent to famous Barr. So im not sure what's going on there. Good luck if you apply! Also I've been told that they dont report limits.
They are part of the May companies. I just was approved for thier Kaufmanns card. But you can use the card at any of thier other stores. The credit line is only $500 to start but hey it's better than nothing. My score is just barely over 600 but my TU report who they checked does not show any negatives. The nice people at TU deleted all my negatives after the 3rd. round of disputes. Now if I could just get them to delete some inquires. They are being a pain in the butt on them.
Great info! Thanks. I am just now beginnning to wokr on my TU report. I think I can get it cleaned okay. Some stuff from my exp and it was deleted after a few rounds. I am looking at X-mas and Famous Barr has some great sales right before and after the holidays.
