Okay - it takes a lot to get me angry - but Farm Bureau bank REALLY ticks me off, applied for the biz line of credit last week. Lady calls up today and says they need my authorization to pull company tax returns. Said she'd fax something. I get the fax - and see they're asking for authorization to pull company AND personal tax returns. Thought about it - didn't feel like it -so - i call her back and ask why they need the returns - i'd heard from others who were approved for the line up to 50K without tax returns. first she says no - everyone is asked for returns - i tell here i belong to a credit board and others said they weren't asked for financials - is there a problem my Experian - which is what they checked is 755. So - she tells a different story - certain areas have higher fraud rates - so that's why they ask. Asked her if i would be approved for a lower amount than what i asked for (35K) without financials - she says no. Okay - so i tell her i'd think about it. A couple of minutes ago i checked Experian - and WHAT THE F**K - farm bureau bank PULLED ANOTHER REPORT - ANOTHER HARD INQUIRY!!!! I AM SO PISSED! Can I get them for impermissible purpose on this one????
I'm not sure what the deal is - not sure if she pulled another one to see if she could approve me without the financials - but it still doesn't make sense - she had the the one they pulled 5 days earlier - when i applied. not sure tho if i have a case to fight it - does anyone know? Are they allowed to pull two hards - on the same cra - for the same application?
Re: Re: Farm Bureau Bank-wtf??????? GEORGE- I've disputed inquiries with Ex b4 - to no avail - but i never had a duplicate from the same company in 5 days... how would you write that dispute letter to Exp?
Re: Re: Re: Farm Bureau Bank-wtf??????? "This second inquiry is a duplicate of the first...PLEASE remove the newest one...thank you" FARM BUR BK 10/09/03 FARM BUR BK 10/14/03
Re: Re: Re: Farm Bureau Bank-wtf??? FINAL UPDATE: well - bottom line - spoke to FBB lady today - she saw another report was pulled by their underwriters - score was still 755 on experian - she doesn't know why - she says - "it's ok the credit bureas don't count it if it's from the same bank within 5 days" yeah - right - she doesn't know what she's talking about - and THEN she says well you can write the credit bureau and have them delete it - the 2nd inquiry - i asked - politely - can you delete it - she says no - we have no way of doing that.... A real class A outfit - what can i say. Whatever. I wrote Experian - disputing the second duplicate inquiry. still don't know why they needed financials - as others were offered without - she did say that they don't check D&B - i told her we have a good credit rating with them... but... I'm over it. A year ago - with lower scores - my biz got a 50K biz loc from a local bank here in Los Angeles - without showing tax returns... go figure. of course - I didn't truly need the loc - i'm just a greedy bastard On the upside - Citibank calls me yesterday - asks if i want to do another balance transfer at 0% for six months with no trans fees and upped my limit - again - for the third time in three months. There. i feel better. LOL (also - yesterday evening i took out my little chart of personal and biz cc's - not including our biz loc - which is under both my name and my biz partners name - added them all up - and i'm - gulp - currently at: 271K. i gotta stop this madness)

On the upside - Citibank calls me yesterday - asks if i want to do another balance transfer at 0% for six months with no trans fees and upped my limit - again - for the third time in three months. AND I GET TOLD TO BACK OFF ASKING FOR A CREDIT LIMIT INCREASE!!!!!!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Farm Bureau Bank-wt GEORGE - I think I know what the deal is with Citi - at least in my case. For the past few months - due to mortgage application concerns - i've been transferring large amounts of money between various cards - to make sure my balances are low - when they report. so i've been transferring about 10K in debt to and from three cards - right before each one closes - to make sure it doesn't show up on my report. it's quite a bit of work - actually - and now that i'm a proud homeowner - i'm gonna stop. Anyhoo - i think everytime Citi saw me pay off a 10K balance - to bring the card to zero - it raises some kind of internal score - and also probably pisses them off - cause they're not making any interest on the acct. i figure they keep on raising my limit when I bt - in the hopes that at some point - I'm not going to be able to pay it off that fast. And you know what - it's a good strategy for them - cuz this time - i'm going to have to pay it down slower than before - due to remodelling expenses. anyhoo - that's just my theory. I could be wrong.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Farm Bureau Bank-wt I have 4.90% TILL PAID--(FINE FOR NOW) I paid all but $1,300 +/- down from $20,000+ 4-5 months ago...(DIDN'T HELP ME)
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Farm Bureau Just a thought; Pay it off completely - if you can - have a 0 balance for a month - and then call their retention and ask if you can get an increase with a bt
