Hi all, I was wondering if using a fax is acceptable in place of CRRR? I was given a Fax number for Chase to dispute some tradelines but I didn't know if I should use the fax number to expedite things or stick with CRRR.

    Thanks

I BELEIVE CRRR IS ALWAYS THE BETTER OF THE TWO. THAT'S JUST HOW I SEE IT. A SIGNATURE AS PROOF OF DELIVERY IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN A RECEIPT FOR A SUCCESSFUL FAX (IMHO). BUT...DIFF'RENT STROKES FOR DIFF'RENT FOLKS.

do both..that way you have dual-proof they recieved it.

I've done this on a few settlement offers and on a few disputes with CRA's.

Have not done it for validation, because I do not wish to give them extra time. (they'd get the fax a few days before the CRRR)
so, validation for me is _always_ CRRR only.

I think you should just follow your instincts and do what fits the situation. ie: if it is an intent to sue - go CRRR, but sometimes I prefer faxing validation letters. But this is really a personal preference...although there are some things that *must* be sent CRRR.
