Has anyone faxed from their computer and/or know how to do it? I have an HP and found that a program called QuickLink came on it, which is supposed to let you fax for free. I just tried it but don't know what the results are.
I set up my fax program to be my main printer. I don't have a real printer, it died on me ;-( Everytime, I need to print something, it goes to my real fax machine (which is my printer now), or it gets sent to where I need it to go. I have an OLD Compaq laptop, Windows 98, RingCentral Fax. In my printers folder, I right clicked on RingCentral Fax to make it my default printer. I really need to finish getting my credit fixed so I can get a Dell ;-) Is this what you mean?
I have a dell computer with a Lexmark Multi function prinetr (Prints copys and scans) It is not a stand alone fax but with software included with the Computer I am able to send and receive faxes.. I tested this with my FAX maching at work and it works great.. If you have a computer alone I think with the right software you can fax word documents.. with a printer inluced you should be able to receive faxes...
I also have the Lexmark Multi-function. Copies, scans, and prints great, but I have yet to figure out how to use the F-ing Fax machine. l've had it a year. I'ts easier to go to the drug store and fax from there. Anna
You know, all this faxing talk has made me angry. Last week I stoppped at a yard sale (I can not pass one) and there was a brand new fax machine in the box. I asked the lady to hold it for me for 5 minutes so that I could go just around the corner to my house and get my money (ONLY 5.00). I went home and immediatly back (MAYBE 4 minutes) she SOLD it to a lady that heard me tell the woman I would be right back for it. She offered double. PLLLLLPPPPP
She was in violation of the "yard sale rule of ediquite."(Where's that spell-checker?) Anyways, I think you have her for $1000. Anna
