Many times folks have Neg. Info in their files as a driect result of creditors having violated the fair billing laws.
Had they obeyed the law such info would never have gotten on a credit report because there wouldn't be anything to report.

If more emphases was directed toward preventing and correcting billing errors there would be fewer errors to correct on reports.
Why not nip the problem in the bud right at the start instead of having to deal with the damage after in hits the CRAs?

You know the ounce of prevention instead of the pound cure thing!

I don't know about a lot of things, lbrown59. :) I was simply asking what the FBPA was. I'd never heard of it. Were you referencing the FCBA as LKH suggested? :)

Georgia Fair Business Practices Act... Georgia and Virginia seem to have information on a statewide FBPA, but I do not see federal or applicable evidence elsewhere.

WHAT DOES THE OFFICE OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS DO?

Legislation passed by the Georgia Assembly in 1975 created the position of the Administrator of the Fair Business Practices Act. The Administrator and his staff, referred to as the Office of Consumer Affairs or OCA, enforce the Fair Business Practices Act and other consumer protection laws. The Office of Consumer Affairs represents the interests of the consuming public and provides information and consumer education materials to educate consumers about their rights and responsibilities in the marketplace.

I don't know how the FBPA would be of any benefit to most. I am not too familiar with it however. Good info. Dave.
