It has flared up on my EXP report. I have been disputing that %&@# account since 2000 and with the demise of FCNB it just fell off of my report (scheduled to fall off 08/05). Well its back, probably because of my new mortgage and here is what it says

    Account # XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    Account Type: Revolving
    Credit Limit: $1120
    Min Mo Pymt:
    Date Opened: August 1996
Last Pymt Date: Not on record
    Date Closed:
Loan Type: Credit Card, Terms REV
    Collateral
Description: Account paid in full for less than the full balance

Current Status: Account legally paid in full for less than the full balance

Recent Payment History: 2004 Apr Ok/Unknown

Creditnet experts: I need your help to zap this bugger once and for all. It is true that I settled the account. That was in early 2000 - way before I discovered this site. HELP! This baddy dropped my score down to 610!

    hmmm, how does this sound?

Incorrect Last Payment Date, in accordance with Johnson v. MBNA, I hereby demand that the data furinisher conclusively verify the Last Payment Date from their physical records, and not from a cursorary review of their computer systems.

You know the same thing just recently happen to me. I disputed this acc and it was deleted 07/04 but just in april they reinserted. So I know on experian it's showing as a positive tradeline. On trans it's negative and the dates have been changed and I am waiting for my new equifax report.

The only way I know of that a TL like this could drop your FICO 80 points is if it wa re-aged to look new, and I bet it was. Look at the bolded part.

Now, if you were me you would be typing up a nice, juicy ITS letter and mailing it, giving them 20 days to BOTH remove it AND pay $1000 or we go to Court about it. 80 points is significant damages all by itself.
