FCNB is losing its mind I applied for a secure card with FCNB (cause I have crappy credit). The day after I mailed in my application, I received a letter from them stating that their previous acceptance was retracted as they were not opening any new accounts for secured cards. It said that if I had already responded and sent a security deposit, the deposit would be returned within 10 days. Well, 10 days came and went.... 15 days came and went.... so I called them. Their CSR said that they were not offering secured cards any more and I told him I never received my deposit back. He said that they never received it and asked me to run a trace on the USPS money order. I was going to do that this week. Today I check my mail and *behold* a credit card from FCNB had arrived. I called to activate it (to see if it was real) and it activated. Signed on to their website and yup.... I actually had an account. So what the hell are they doing??? Since they arent taking any new secured card customers, is this card secured?? Or are they trying to make me go insane?
Re: FCNB is losing its mind Can't be... when I called them last week, their CSR looked at my file and told me I was not approved for the secured card and they had sent me a letter. Which is why I called them, I wanted my money back LOL.... I dont know - not complaining though - they gave me a decent credit limit with my crappy score. If they based it on my deposit - its 5 times my deposit.
