I charged up my FCNB almost to the max, planning to pay it down in 3 payments in an attempt to get my limit increased, and Earthlink decides to pre charge me 6 months of DSL without telling me. Thus I went over my limit by about $150. I sent in a check for $300, but right now I'm blocked from making further charges. Has anyone have any experience in unblocking FCNB cards?

Has the payment posted and cleared your bank?

Tell them to DROP the hold.

You didn't know about the 6 month pre charge.

The check cleared a long, long time ago. Apparantly FCNB has a policy where if you go x% over the credit limit they just block your card, even if you make payments on time. What I don't understand is why they even allowed the charge to go through if it's so bad.

    Tom,

You will probably have to wait 6 months before they reopen the account to new charges.
