I tried to use the search for this, but it didn't really help me.

I was wondering how First COnsumer Nat'l Bank is. I know they offer a secured card. Has anyone dealt with this company? I just received the application I requested. Any info on them would be great.

BTW, I'm waiting for my Cap One secured to get here, but should I just stick to one secured card? I also have a Providian Gold, and ...Aria Persona (hey, I'm taking advantage of the 0% for 2 months. Also, I'm really trying to establish my credit and I'm being responsible with these 2 Providian cards b/c of the high apr and no grace...)

FCNB has been discussed several times at this site. Unfortuantely the search only displays the 20 most recent post. Many of us have had accounts with them. The customer service is good. They give a minimal of 1.5 x your deposit as your credit limit. I had no problems with them. I closed the account b/c they were my only secured account left. They returned my deposit w/ mininal hassle. FCNB was the most recommended secured card at one time on this board. That was before capital one's $49 offers for $200 limits. But I recommend them over capital one b/c they report your true credit limit. I received a $100 increase without asking at 4 months. They also are connected to Eddie Bauer and Spiegel. I got my Spiegel card b/c of them.

FCNB was the best card I could have asked for when you think of subprime. I have never had any problems with them. I got my deposit back a year later and they have since increased my limit twice. I highly recommend that card to anyone with damaged, bruised or just plain old bad credit. I also have Spiegal from them, too.
