I have to chime in on the "record of fact" idea. Although I value my privacy and I have tried my hardest to prevent companies sharing my info, have opted out, etc. what really burns me is that hard inqs. are counted against you--both in the scoring model and when viewed by other creditors. If there is an improper hard inq. placed on your rpt such as the THREE companies who miscoded AR for me, I am penalized and the only fact that I can see is that the companies/CRA's or both made a mistake.
