Re: Re: Federal 7-Year Law Specifies... That's unfortunate because I liked interacting with you although we had different views. Maybe one day, some of your debts will be 6 months away from falling off and you will have a decision to make, 'do I validate, investigate, dispute, complain, argue, bombard the CRA with letters - or do I simply wait for this to fall off? Hopefully, then you will understand I am not the enemy
Re: Re: Re: Federal 7-Year Law Specifies... Do you think I don't already know that? You read bits & pieces of my posts and then you insult me by jumping to ridiculous conclusions I can help you with that - 3 years is how long I waited for my derogs to fall off once I gave up the fight with the CA's & creditors *smooches*
SoParkDiva, I don't know you or your story, never said you didn't have rough times as well or that you got sucked in at a young age,... I'm just saying, there are a lot of circumstances that people get into, that is definitely NOT worthy of a 7 YEAR Neg. Tradeline, Thus, I was merely debating that for someone to take the stance or to preach that 7 years is the law and everyone must/should/ethically wait the 7 Year term ... is in my opinion, Poppycock! I don't know about this bandwagon I've supposedly jumped on, all I know is I take a person's word in good faith, and later found out I was lied too, and have been told by them and a CA that I'll just have to suffer the con sequences. BTW, Sylvan was closed for 2 weeks during the Holiday, so they say they really didn't my 2 week notice to quit in time , and so once they returned to "open business hours" they still wanted a fresh 2 week notice .... So... I was basically billed for 1 month's of tuition that my son NEVER received! So, I disputed this with them - went on for about 1 1/2 months. Saw I was getting no where with them and agreed to just pay them to get them off my back, but they agreed to take 2 payments. 3 days later I get the notice from the CA. I call Sylvan back, they say "oh yeah, we did agree to take 2 payments directly from you, we will call off the CA." I pay Sylvan as agreed. I think all is taken care of. Then I found out several months later Sylvan did not keep their work and the CA reported a Collection on me. This is NOT fair, and because of the CA's tactics and no info for the consumers - it's defintely Buyer Beware, ... It's these situations those of here are mostly fighting. FedUp2003!
Re: Re: Re: Federal 7-Year Law Specifies... No I do not. It is amazing how you people jump to conclusions with wild accusations that reveal your paranoia. How did I go from being "stupid" & "not knowing what I'm talking about" & being "inexperienced" to now I "work for Equifax?" Where did that come from? What nugget of information led you to that stunning conclusion? I've only been saying the same things all along. Did I stumble onto the wrong board or something? If I were a newbie & I saw all this confusing about-face contradictory statements & false paranoid accusations I would begin to wonder if I should take advice from you people.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Federal 7-Year Law Specifies... Really??? You don't say??? Unbelievable!! Haven't I been saying this all along? Haven't I been saying this law is to protect the good people from bad debts? Have you even read any of my posts? And where did you see that? Could you please show me the post where I said that. Unbelievable?! Please direct me to the post where I said the 7 year law was intended to hurt the consumer in any way. You haven't read my posts have you? Shame on you!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Federal 7-Year Law Specifies... More paranoia and misguided accusations. *I shake my head in disbelief*
And I fully understand that! I'm not saying lay down & let the CRA's trample all over you. All I'm saying - to the ones who hear me & have a clue - is that the 7-year law is there to protect people like you from a**holes like Sylvan! You fight & fight but ultimately they ruin your credit because they are bigger than us. The federal government realized this & that's why they enacted that law! To keep sharks like Sylvan from holding you down forever!!!! They can only ruin your credit for 7 years and then it must be deleted! For you, maybe. Because your ordeal has just begun and I'm sorry that happened to you. But there are some lurkers on this board who suffered what you have endured & fought the good fight & lost - and now they only have 6 more months to go before their negatives are deleted forever. Shouldn't I be happy for them? Shouldn't I say to them Was the wait worth it for you?
Re: Re: Federal 7-Year Law Specifies... Say whatever you want, but I guarantee those people will NOT say it was worth the wait. If these people lost what you call the "good fight", it is only because they didn't know what they were doing. And just because someone may work for a cra doesn't mean they know the laws. Get real. smooches
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Federal 7-Year Law Specifies... The only thing misguided around here is your advice. It would appear that the only people who think you are right is yourself and Butch. Everyone else seems to think you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
Re: Re: Re: Federal 7-Year Law Specifies... Again, I shake my head in utter disbelief. Unbelievable how I went from being so "stupid" and "inexperienced" to working for not just the CA's, but the CRA's the CIA, the FBI, lol! What's next, I work for Interpol? I wish you people would make up your minds =) *smooches*
Re: Re: Re: Federal 7-Year Law Specifies... it never fails to amaze me how some people thrive on negative attention... Diva, did you not get enough love as a child? You've said what you wanted to say, now ENOUGH ALREADY... no one wants to hear your self-righteous BS anymore!!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Federal 7-Year Law Specifies... awwwww fave Butch growling dude, It's SO good to read of your assimilation, LOL It doesn't appear to me that Diva wants or intends to do anything other than making these same outrageous statements in every thread she posts in. That's neither here nor there and up to Diva, but is why she keeps getting these reactions. It's more bothersome to me that you would dismiss LKH's concerns and statements so casually. Search on Diva's posts and see if that's just not what it is, at this point, and I'm not suggesting that she won't be willing to change her input based on a community and the brilliance of knowledge available, maybe, that's her choosing and beside the point really. I just don't won't to go down that "other" road or back to it, hoping I learned that lesson. Whether it's expressed as a disagreement, preaching, narrow-mindedness, contrary to all the stickies, just wrong, ill advised, beware, do your homework, click on search, troll or brackets. The message is the same, an alert to anyone reading along and a feeling of having to address the quality or in this case, lack of quality, in suggestions and advice. It is more important to me, no matter what Diva decides to do with herself or not, that responses such as in this thread and the others just like this thread, compel challenging responses from those you know you can count and rely on. Truly, I shudder at the thought of a thread such as this one, going unchallenged by those who have given much of themselves to ensure that current, past and future readers won't be misled and misinterpret bad or irresponsible advice as the kind of help you get at CN. Take it for what it's worth, fave Butch growling dude, and do with it what you will, but do search and see that this thread of Diva's is just one example of many reflecting the same thing. Call it a troll or bad advice or anything in between, but it's not posting without an agenda, if even an unknown one. Fly with me, Butch, you've been assimilated ~~ Sassy
