    Trans Union deleted a Federal Tax Lien on 4/12 and re-inserted the same on 4/15.

    "We have completred our re-investigation and the results are shown below. Paid Federal Tax Lien Deleted." 4/12 Report

    "We have received additional information on an item previously deleted in response to a dispute you submitted. Our findings are summarized as follows:
    Paid Federal Tax Lien Re-Inserted" 4/15 Report

    Received both letters by mail today.

    Paid and released IRS tax liens stay on your report for 7 years from the date they were released. It could be possible that TU went to the public records and determined the date of your release. If it was less than 7 years since the release date...good luck..if it is more than 7 years since the IRS released your lien then keep disputing it with proof of the release date.

    Did that second letter also include this:

    I) a statement that the disputed information has been reinserted;

    (II) the business name and address of any furnisher of information contacted and the telephone number of such furnisher, if reasonably available, or of any furnisher of information that contacted the consumer reporting agency, in connection with the reinsertion of such information; and

    (III) a notice that the consumer has the right to add a statement to the consumer's file disputing the accuracy or completeness of the disputed information.

    You could always also ask for the certification :)

    B) Requirements relating to reinsertion of previously deleted material.

    (i) Certification of accuracy of information. If any information is deleted from a consumer's file pursuant to subparagraph (A), the information may not be reinserted in the file by the consumer reporting agency unless the person who furnishes the information certifies that the information is complete and accurate.

    The second letter provided me with all "general" info about Harris County Court House, Houston TX, including phone number.

    What is confusing is that on my report, prior to the deletion of 4/12, the lien was reported as paid. (It is NOT)
    Upon re-Insertion, it is again showing "PAID"

    The CRA has 5 days in which to respond to me that an item has been re-inserted in my report. What proof do they have that I received the second letter. It was not sent registered, just reg. mail?

    Are all Federal Tax Liens bad, paid or no?
    With this re-insertion, my score dropped 76 points.
