When I graduated from College I left with some library fines and a parking ticket. This totaled $170. I eventually paid it that summer after graduating, but they reported it 60/90 days late as a "Student Loan". (This all took place in the summer of 2001) Furthermore, once I paid it (it shows 0 balance), it is reported as "Currently 90 days past due". Does this make it look like I'm still past due? My credit scores are tanked cause of this, 560 exp. (I also have 3 30 day lates on credit cards, all over a year old). I tried to get the school to get rid of it, but they refused. Also, when I asked them to delete it, they pulled a hard inquiry on my credit reports. What should I do? I'm new to this board though I've been lurking for about 4-5 months from time time.
Dispute as never had a $170 student loan Send them a check for$0.oo Sure does. You hain't pad the $0.00 yet Perhaps they would rather delete it instead of paying you $1000 for this violation.
When I told the College that I intended to dispute it because it was wrong, they said they would confirm it but change the description. That's not really good enough for me.
