Hello everyone. I'm hoping I can get some experienced feedback on a couple of questions. My wife and I are looking to buy a new house soon (selling owns as well) and I need a medium FICO of 680. I always provide too much info so I apologize up front. Well, Score Power from EQF listed me as 685. TU listed me as 632 and Power Score (FACO) for EXP said 732. All the reports are almost identical except TU and EXP have 4 TL of a Citibank Student Loan listed with 4 30-day lates. I missed a single payment in 12/97 and Citibank had combined all 4 loans into one so it appears I had 4 lates on CR's (but EQF has the same 4 TL but no mentions of lates). All CR's list a Released CA state tax lien from 1/99 but here's a catch. Only EQF (which has the FICO score I need) has it listed right. The other CRA have the amount listed as $147 which incorrect. I started an online investigation on this for both and listed it as 'not mine - incorrect information'. If they both validate this info, could I press them and perhaps sue (or threaten) since it's not 100% accurate? My CC balances are also fairly maxed out. We plan on paying off all of the debt with the sale of our home before we buy the other. I'm hoping this alone will boast my scores beyond 680 on all reports and push EQF into the 700's. But what concerns me is my EQF FICO is 695 with released state tax lien and very high balances. But TU is 50+ points lower, almost identical report except it has 4 30-day lates from 12/97. Would those bring the score down that much being they drop off in 6 months?? And the FACO score from EXP says 732 and said I have good credit but it also is identical to TU which is at 632. Could their score be that far off? Thanks a ton everyone!!!! OceanBlue
If it is not yours how would you know if the information is correct or not? You must be careful not to "slip up" when dealing with CRA's and CA's!
Yes, if you look at it that way.. I thought you were disputing it as BOTH "not mine" and "incorrect info", but now I understand what you mean

If it's not his he knows that anything listed about it on the report is wrong.
