My FICO scores are approx 700. I have long history of paying accounts ontime with an unpaid tax lien that is 8.5 years old. Has anyone applied for a credit card with a similar profile and been approved?
Or, suggest a credit card that I might try. I have repeatedly disputed the record with the CRA's with zero success.

I just recently got a paid tax lien off of all of my reports, and my Experian report still shows one I had to pay to close my mortgage.

I got a State Farm platinum Visa and four Household cards (Best Buy, Gold MC, GM and Corvette) with a 6 year old paid lien on Equifax, and Target Visa, Advanta, Citibank and American Express with an UNPAID lien on Experian.

Most of the cards I got that pulled Trans Union occured after I got my liens removed.

My scores were in the 600 range when I got most of these. You should be fine.

First, thank you very much for your response!

Just to make sure I am understanding, you were approved by Target Visa, Advanta, Citibank and American Express with an UNPAID lien on Experian?

    Did you apply on-line?

The American Express card, was this the blue card? (Or, which one?)

And, do you think the unpaid tax record affected the credit limit the companies offered?

    Thanks again !

Hubby got a Citibank with 7500 cl a few years ago. We didn't realize that an old tax lien was still showing unpaid to the tune of 36K.
