    Average FICO score is 720. 11% are 800-850. 29% are between 750-799. I have added FICO scores from people who post them on this site the last few weeks. The average so far is 657.62
    about 62.38 from average. I have the profile names written down with the scores. If anyone wants to add to this go for it and I will keep track. This is interesting so far.

    Whoever says Average scores are 720 is full of it.

    If average is 720, then why is 720 the A+ paper? Seems that is 720 were normal/average it would only be normal/average paper?

    I "THINK" 800-850 IS UNDER 5%...MAYBE EVEN UNDER 3%

    NOBODY IN THE "REAL WORLD" CAN GET THAT HIGH UNLESS THEY ARE IN A VERY NARROW GROUP...

    Very short history...only a few cards...never PAID IN FULL (you LOSE points for PAID IN FULL ACCOUNTS)...

    IT HAS TO BE "WORKED"

    "IF" it was EASY to work it...MANY HERE WOULD HAVE DONE THAT...

    You CAN'T have very much credit either...NO $50,000+ CREDIT LIMITS (even if you do make more than $100,000)

    It "MIGHT" work if you had like $5,000 max for 3 cards and carry a balance of $500 at all times...don't ever close any account...don't apply for any new credit...keep any "JACKED" card even if it is 24.99%...

    NOT THAT ONE SHOULD RUN THEIR CREDIT LIFE BY F.I.C.O. 9.99% AND UNDER IS A BETTER THING TO SHOOT FOR...HIGH LIMITS ON A FEW CARDS THAT YOU CAN "WORK" IS BETTER TO SHOOT FOR...GET TO THE POINT THAT A "TOY" CARD IS A "JOKE" AND YOU CAN REFUSE IT, BECAUSE YOU DON'T NEED THEIR BUSINESS!!!

    720-850
    700-719
    675-699
    620-674
    560-619
    500-559

    THIS IS FROM MYFICO.COM IN REFERENCE TO WHAT YOU PAY FOR A MORTGAGE WITH WHAT SCORE...

    SO IT "LOOKS" LIKE = OR >720 IS "A" PAPER AS STATED BY OleMissReb!!! NOT 800-850

    I run my credit life based on FICO. The last I checked I was $260 in debt. If FICO told me to do something to raise my score in a simulator, I would do it no matter what. It has worked pretty good so far. I try and figure out every variable in what drives a FICO score which way. FICO to me is like AA to a drunk. I need the suport.

    LOOKS TO ME LIKE A "BELL CURVE"

    In math class the teacher used the "BELL CURVE" for a test...she was FORCED to give an F to people who got 5 wrong out of 100!!!

    THAT IS 95% "A" IN MY BOOK IN THE "REAL WORLD"...

    SHE SAID EVERYBODY TURN OVER THE PAPER...EVERYBODY GOT AN "A" ON THAT TEST!!!

    You can let FICO run your life;

    Or you can simply try to get prime credit cards as GEORGE suggests;

    Or you can combine the two approaches.

    Whenever you get turned down for prime credit cards, the kind you really want, look at the reason codes. Then, starting with the first, which had the greatest influence on the rejection, change your credit profile to eliminate that reason.

    If, in applying for prime credit cards, you find that different cards offer different reasons for rejection, accept that as proof of the fact that banks don't use a single FICO score, but hundreds of different scores, in making credit decisions. Many banks have their own version that is at least slightly different from the one "ideal" FICO score.

    That fits me to a 'T' except my cards are paid off every month and look at my scores.

    I don't carry a balance on my cards. I do carry abalance on my auto loan every month but that's not revolving account.

    You have to remember that a larger than average of low score people are on this site. The 720ers are not looking to repair their credit. So that may skew your results.

    That is why people here do not beleive the average FICO score of 720. I thought it was interesting and thought the same thing. I bet it is lower than 650 on this site. Or that 11% are 800-850.
