Anyone read an article entitled "Fico Frenzy" in the May "SmartMoney" mag? (subtitled - "To what lengths will people go to increase their FICO score?) I couldn't read the article online and I'm too lazy, debt-bound, agoraphobic, and emotionally paralyzed to go out and find a magazine. The author interviewed me but I'm not sure whether my answers had much coherence or even made it into the article. But the title, "Fico Frenzy" has me wondering. (I think I used "frenzy" in one of my answers) If you know where I can read this article online let me know. If you've read it, what do you think? Should I venture out? Woeful
Doc was kind enough to scan it and put it where we can see it. Anne did an excellent job with the article, and those of you who interviewed did a fantastic job of enlightening the public. Keep in mind the title and the "angle" is a "hook" to get people to read it - it has to catch their interest. She portrayed me as the crusader-kook, which is fine - I told her "say anything you want about me, just spell my name right." It paid off. http://psychology.net/smartmoney.pdf
Psychdoc, Anne didn't quote me or mention me by name but I may have helped with a bit of the theme in her piece. After several email interviews (I hate the phone) I was a little too guarded about my employment and that may have kabashed the works. I see she quoted legitimate people with understandable careers. I didn't make the cut. (by that, I mean, I wasn't terribly sellable) Mystery. I gave her what insight I had about FICO scoring and my experiences. I really should be reporting for "Dumb Money"! Woeful
