I am considering adding my daughter as an authorized user to my Discover Card account (opened 1989, $12K limit, $500 balance). It's always been paid on time. Could those of you who've either added someone as an AU or been added as an AU yourself tell me what the score increases were? Thanks.
I don't know about the score. But it helps a lot to the Auth user Own Reports if the creditor actually reports the account to them.
I added my brother as an AU on my 1990 Citi card (in 2001), and his scores skyrocketed to 790+ .... he did not have a credit history before then!! I was envious!! I guess the amount of boost that a particular report gets also depends on what else is on the report. Since in my brother's case it was a clean sheet, the bump had the MAXIMUM effect. How is your daughter's report otherwise??
I am considering adding my GF as an Authorized User on one of my credit cards. I have great credit, will this help her score? (she has NO credit). I can add her as an AU to a Chase Visa, KeyBank Visa, or Bank of America Visa, if that helps at all...
Since my previous post in January, I've added my daughter as an AU to my Discover Card. It reported to EXP within a little over a week. It has not reported to EQ and TU yet. Has anyone ever had this happen? Does anyone know whether EXP just reports faster than EQ or TU? I'm just concerned because I'd like for it to report to all three to help her scores. By the way, her EXP score went up 30 points. Please tell me your thoughts if you've experienced this before. Thanks.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to get Discover to quickly report new auth user to EQ and TU - reported to EXP with about a week and a half after adding AU.
