you know I just checked my credit expert and credit watch and there is no notation showing cd secured on my usaa loan. I could have sworn there was a notation back when I first got it, but maybe they took it off? My golden1 cd secured loans are noted as such with the golden1 only on equifax. So it looks like USAA is the way to go. Its also possible that experian just isn't disclosing all of the loan info. The secured part might show up for instance on a trimerge. I'll be checking for it the next time i get one.

    Hrmmm..

    OPTION ONE

REVOLVING LOC with apple bank.... I'll leave a $100.00 balance

    or

    OPTION TWO

INSTALLMENT LOC with apple bank (shows up as secured)

    or OPTION THREE

INSTALLMENT LOC that shows up as unsecured.

Give me a guesstimate how this would raise a score :)

    Thanks!

If you currently don't have any installment loans on your account I think it could increase your score a good deal if you already have several installment loans, your guess is as good as mine!

well, it should answer the question I have of whether or not auto loans are treated the same as installment loans in fico math. Incidently, my score went up a great deal when the loan first posted and only went up a few points when it was paid off(Random Number Generator). What did you say you scores are now? Maybe you don't have too much room to go up.
