NOT I have begun my quest to focus on paying off debt and not be concerned about the scores anymore, b/c I believe they are all a RNG. Example, my friend just applied for a HEL, I talked her out of it (bad terms) thank goodness, however she got to see her Beacon (equifax) score, she has a 685. Her report, she filed for BK7 four years ago, has ALL of her cards MAXED out her available credit is ZERO, has a few recent lates (12 months). Her goodies, a 2 year mortgage and 2 car loans. Now this scores makes perfect sense given her credit report, NOT
Mom, Doesn't surprise me a bit. About this time a year ago, a lady on the Motley Fool posted her story. She file for Chapter 7 in Jan. of 01 and was discharged in April. She reaffirmed her home and her car note. Wiped out all cc debt. She had a 619 FICO 3 months post bk and wanted to know if that was good or bad and if it would ever get better. 619 3 months out of bk and we got people here busting there hump trying to pay bills and dispute stuff just to get in the 600 club.
Thanks keepmine. It is so frustrating, you try and do what this site and that site recommends and yet you net nothing. I still have the same score as I did one year ago, and my reports look much much better. But I will just starting chipping away at my debt and FICO can kiss my behind LOL.
I have gotten to the point that I don't care anymore. I just paid off $9K of debt what did my score do - drop 15 points! Makes no sense. I made all my big purchases - a home, a car, and I don't need anymore CCs..so if the damn thing goes down to 350 I couldn't give a rats behind. Dani
I hear you Dani, I am going to be the same way, I have my house and all the credit I need, I have about 85% available and opposed to 50% from a year ago and I remain with the same score, oh well on to more important things.........
You all have the right attitude. I am keeping an eye on obvious mistakes and take the appropriate action but you can make yourself crazy over this ridiculous system. But, if I didn't already have my house, car, and some cards, I'd still be turning myself inside out (neat trick, I tell you) to try to figure this out. Momof3: always good to hear from you!
so if the damn thing goes down to 350 I couldn't give a rats behind. Dani ====================== Unless one of your creditors or insures pulls your report and jacks up your Rates and Premiums!
