If the lender or whoever uses the middle score of the three credit reports that they use - why spend energy to clean up the worst one when all you really have to worry about is the highest and the middle score? It seems to me that you would see who is responding best to the disputes and then choose the top two to work on, rather than all three. Maybe I am just blowing smoke, but isn't that the way it works? I am talking money (for all the crrr - 8.00 a pop) and all the time. Trying to figure out the best workaround.

Best way would be to do it on-line.

With EQ - you don't have a choice but to do it CRRR.

Only reason I bother dealing with them is because 99% of the companies in Tx. use them :(

it's best to clean ALL your reports, although they use your middle score for interest rate, if one report is horrible and full of collections etc, you probably won't get the mortgage approval.

    Kirby,

If there are legitimate items that need to be removed, you're entitled to a free updated report. Also, some lenders don't just use the middle score, but an average of the 3.

An employer (esp. financial companies) will not care about your credit scores, but rather how you've handled credit in the past, and whether you've moved around too much.

Despite no negatives, I periodically check my reports to prevent ID fraud. In the unfortunate event you're a victim, the CRA may be more inclined to work with you if you have established a pattern of keeping track of your reports.

Thanks, those are all good thoughts. I am trying to figure out a speedy and not so much consuming way to do this, oh well. Maybe can't happen.
