Where does everyone get all of their credit scrores from at the tails of their posts? Just curious what means you use to monitor your scores. Thanks
For Experian I use www.creditexpert.com. They have a plan that is free for the first 30 days then 79.99 after. For Equifax, I use www.equifax.com For TransUnion, I use their automated Scoring system 4000 XLT. This system uses a highly sophisticated algorithm which is like a lottery ball machine. The first 3 numbers that come out when you pull the lever is your Beacon score. Sorry...I hate TU. For them though go to www.transunion.com. Right now be careful because the scoring for your report is unavailable due to a "bug" and the rep said in thirty days they will have the patch for that. As of now you can only see your report on there. Good luck! SnakeMan
I use Privacy Guard. You can pull all 3 of your reports there. It is only $1 for the first 90 days, and you can pull your reports everyday. The default report comes with EQ Score (Their version), and you can get scores from the other 2 for $10.
Fico Scores/Monitoring Svc I've heard a lot about PrivacyGuard...but can't seem to find answers to my ??'s on their site... Basically, they let you pull all 3 of your reports, unlimited amount of times, all for $80-ish/yr?? How up to date are they? Any delay in the updates? This sounds too good to be true..when they're $12/ea now individually...$36 for all 3... Just confused....any other sites out there that do this? Thanks, DB
Fico Scores/Monitoring Svc They are up to date. I applied for a credit card and immediately pulled a PG report. The inquiry was there from EXP and another app the TU was immediately there. It looks like they do a new request each time to the CRA. If not updated, it will be because the tradeline has not reported to the CRA. One day after statement closing, the EXP information is usually updated. It usually takes about 3 to 5 days for EQ to update and I have seen at least two weeks for TU to update.
Fico Scores/Monitoring Svc Do inquiries affect this at all? Just want to make sure this hasn't bit anyone in the "arse" after they signed up....good comments? not-so-good comments? Thanks a ton.. DB
Fico Scores/Monitoring Svc No they are soft so they do not hurt your score. If you check your reports everyday with PG it can even help your score. Search this forum for 'Bumpage' and you can read more about it.
Fico Scores/Monitoring Svc also read the threads about split files. ive heard that if you pull your report everyday for a long time you get too many soft inquiries with equifax. they dont hurt you until you have so many that they split your file into 2. it seems that people still dont know why equifax splits your file though. i would just pull a report about once or twice a week unless you are trying to find out when a credit card updates its balances or have things in dispute. also if you dont want to pay the $80ish a year make sure you cancel before the 90 day trial period ends. although it is a good deal for the $80ish a year, some people say the scores you get from privacy guard are way off from the fico scores. my scores were very close though; only off by a couple of points.
