The depth and quality of the information provided on this board is amazing!!!

I have a question regarding FICO scores. I have an old Bank of America VISA account which
I thought was closed in 1991, but shows as "inactive" on Experian and Trans Union reports.
The account correctly shows a "zero" balance and was opened in 1976. Is there any
advantage or disadvantage to having this account removed from my report (i.e. will it
lower or increase my FICO score)? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

It's a good tradeline; no negative info. Your comments about the value of an old, established
tradeline validated what I thought to be true. I think I'll try and reopen the account.

    Thanks LK.
