Does anyone know if the Amex card you get with the fidelity account is reported to the CRA's? I'm just curious, because it is more like a credit card than a debit card.

I believe they do not report to CRAs.
It is a debit card/with the 30 day delay charge privilege period.

I talked with AMEX Jason who posts here.
He told me you must qualify fof the GOLD on creditworthiness and resources. It is not a card where you can put in $5K with lousy credit and get it.

    Fidelity sends you a Visa.

    RE: How about secured Optima

FYI -- I recently applied for the secured Optima card. When I called for the status...I was told they are not currently accepting applications and any deposits would be returned. They are revamping their application, etc. and would begin to over the new card "hopefully" by the end of February.

Is the Visa card automatic with Fidelity? Or do you have to qualify like anyone else?

Jason just posted that the new Secured AMEX
will be out later this month. They will give you a card as long as you do not owe any past AMEX $$.

I had applied for the Gold Rewards Plus about 1 1/2 - 2 months ago, and was declined.
They said I needed a 680 or better to be automatically approved. They also said I had too many inquiries to override the denial. I don't have lousy credit. In fact there is not one negative mark on my credit report. I've never even once made a late payment to a creditor.

I have the Schwab One account now, but I want the delayed debit as opposed to debiting from my account each day.

I also have about 25-30k worth of IRAs that I would transfer to fidelity if I open the account.

    So go for it!

This Card does not depend on a credit score,
As long as you don't have rotten stinking credit you will get it!

    Michael...

    Michael,

When any of your clients requested the card, did Am/Ex pull and inquiry?

    RE: Michael...

I can't say as I don't have ready access to thier reports!

Probably did, but as long as you aren't a real bad risk they will approve you. 4 of my clients didn't even have credit reporting yet, and got it!
