My mother started to file for Bankruptcy and filed the papers and never went through with it. She started the process but decided not to do it. Now its showing up on her credit. Anything she can do?
Did she file pro se or with an attorney's assistance? After she filed did she ever go to the 341 hearing? If she/or her attorney submitted the paperwork, the case was filed. Have her check with the bankruptcy court. If the court determines that she indeed filed but NEVER went through the whole process have them/ask them to remove the public notice from the court files. Once this is accomplished have her dispute the filing information with all the CRAs.
