Has anyone dealt w/ filenes removing lates? I didn't pay on it while going thru a divorce--and it's the one derog that's sticking like glue. It's a paid, closed account that never got charged off. EQ reports it as 29 times 90+days, and TU reports it as 32 times 90+ days late. I guess I have to start the nutcase letters, but I have a bad feeling that filenes is staying on my reports! Anyone dealt with them? What else can I do if the nutcase doesn't work? Planetfeedback maybe??
I hate filenes--please help me get them off my reports! LOL can I do anything w/ them reporting different #'s of lates???
Tracy- Filenes (May Company) is notorious for being heavy-handed. They keep all their accounts in-house (they don't sell or securitize them) and they (like Sears) are known to be among the only ones to show up at bankruptcy hearings. I (forgot) - did you pay it all? If so, call and talk to the collections manage and plead your case. Divorce is a good reason - especially if the bas***d was messing your finances up. You paid it. Remind them of that - and the fact that many others would have let it slide. Please "ignorance" in that you didn't pay it with an agreement for them to remove the negative information, and only now (as you REBUILD your life) are you discovering the problems that mistake has caused. You get the idea? Good luck, mj PS: if you don't get anywhere with the collections manager, try a PFB or regular letter to the President of May Company (St. Louis, MO) and see what happens.
Thank you, I'll try that. Yes, it's been paid since 1999. I doubt I'll get anywhere with the phone calls, unless I can find a way past the CS reps. We all know that they aren't going to help much. Which dept. would I ask for , do you have any idea? I'm actually nervous to call them on the phone, and I have no idea why!!
Relax ... thet can't do any _additional_ damage to you, right? It's all upside Even if they tell you "ha ha - go away" you're none the worse. Be positive, you may just get the right person. Remember - psych youself up first - YOU PAID THEM - THAT'S BETTER THAN MANY OTHERS. YOU SHOP THERE - YOU'VE MADE THEM MONEY! Call the COLLECTIONS number (find the last nasty-gram you got from them) not the regular CS number. Ask for the collections manager. If you're really flustered, do it in a nice, professional letter. Good luck, mj
I have the same issue with Filenes and Lord and Taylor, my wife caused the damage (not bad, $220-$300) on my card but never paid the bill. I paid them off in full but have something like 70-80 (90+ Days) whic i find hard to believe. If anyone has any luck or tips with these guys, please pass it on. Thx.
I'm going to write a nice letter this week, at the same time I will post on PFB. If the nice ones don't work, I'll start the nutcase series. I'll let you know if I have any luck! If anyone else has any suggestions, I'm open to new ones. I don't think this will be easy, they verify quickly every time. They want me to suffer for the whold 7 yrs! LOL
