SO, thinking i was being so responsible,

i called all the past neg accounts on my report just to get the status etc...

now they're all coming after me again, PLUS a $900 ambulance bill i'd forgotten all about. should i just weather the nasty calls and say f-em? what is the worst impact this could have? i could use that money instead to start paying back my student loans...

saw my score go from 550-630 then back to 560 this month. argh!

BTW these are all medical-related. cc's and all that are current and moving forward.

    thanks all! - kt

Be really careful here. A lot depends on your state. When I lived in Louisiana I ignored some medical collections long enough, and they went away.

Then I moved to North Carolina, where I found out that it doesn't work that way. The local hospital and the ambulance service are run by the county. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the county has the ability to garnish wages without a court hearing!

When was the last time you paid on any of those bills? Check the SOL for your state.
