I've been using online disputes where possible, just to save time/money and it's been somewhat helpful. Getting personal info corrected w/EXP (and I think the others) needs a letter. So I used the good ol' USPS.com website to send CRRR online and asked to have many incorrect spellings, place of employment and spouses name removed. After two letters, those were gone. The remaining items were old addresses, which were not removed after two tries.

So I looked over the letters here and put this together. I quoted information from their own website to support the motion I was putting forth that all addresses over five years old are not accurate.

Since there was no letter about personal info in the "folder", I thought I'd post this and offer it for inclusion (w/suitable editing) or anyone else's use.

    To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing my THIRD letter regarding inaccurate information about me in your records. Each note has resulted in SOME information being removed but you still have not deleted the EIGHT addresses that I have asked you to validate or remove in my letters dated May 11 and May 15.

I will remind you that the FCRA requires you to verify the validity of the item being disputed within 30 days. If the validity can not be verified, you are obligated by law to remove the item in question.

This will be my last direct attempt to get my erroneous address information removed. You have not validated the addresses andmy next letter on June 26 will be addressed to the FTC to discuss your failure to comply with the law. As you are aware, there are healthy penalties associated with your continued inattention in this matter, so I look forward to benefiting financially when you choose to ignore this THIRD request to delete inaccurate personal information.

I will now quote you from your own report on your experian.com website:

If you believe any of this information is inaccurate, write to us and state specifically why you feel the information is inaccurate. If you would like us to add new information or change the current information on your report, please send a letter or some other document that indicates the new information. Be sure to include your full name (including middle initial and generation, such as JR, SR, II, III, etc.), current mailing address and addresses for the last five years, your Social Security number and date of birth, and your spouse's name and Social Security number (if married.)

I will now follow your instructions exactly. I hope that this precision will allow you to finally do what I have asked for THREE times.

My full name is [name], my current mailing address is [address]. The mailing address for the last five years has been the same, that is, [repeat address]. My social security number is [ss#], my date of birth is [DOB] and I have no spouse.

I request for the THIRD time that you remove the duplicate address of [address] and the following addresses as listed on my Experian credit report as of June 11, when you notified me via email that my dispute had been acted upon. Once again, NONE of these addresses are accurate according to your own instructions.

[ follows a list of addresses taken from their report]
