Well, I dont post frequently enough for anyone to remember my story, but in Dec 2002 my FICO score was low, actually at 472. Ive been working super hard to get stuff cleaned off my credit, and now I can say proudly that my scores as of today are: EQ 645 EXP 637 TU 660 I havent been approved for a card (besides Target and Household) in 2 years! Im hoping to get some other credit cards with a decent CL. I applied for Circuit City, Cap 1, AMEX Blue, and Providian but was denied when my scores were 594, 614 and 617. Should I try to reapply for these cards? Any other cards someone could recommend? The reason they denied me was because I had some delinquent accounts from over a year ago. Thanks for the help guys! I couldnt have reached these goals without Creditnet posters helping me out.
Well, I got all the collections and charge-offs taken off. The 30, 60, 90+ days are still showing but are over a year old. Thats the only thing I havent had luck with taking off my report, and seems to be the reason why I get denied whenever I apply for a card. My utilization is only 4% though so maybe someone will come around the corner and offer me something.
Pretty sure Amex, Chase, BofA, MBNA and Citibank would not like the lates on your report. Providian is indicating that they are going after the prime market so not sure if they are really slowing down on the sub-prime market. Cap 1 is still strong in the sub-prime as well as Household. Best regards, Mirage
