    WEll, it has been a week from hell. Nissan wouldn't approve the loan for the Quest because of the carry from our now very upside down 00 Sable. So we, had them try some other banks and try it on a 02 Caravan that is actually sold as a used car at the Nissan Dealership even though it only has 4 miles on it. WEll, they sent that to like 5 banks, GMAC, WElls FArgo, Hyundai, NMAC and Long Beach. WE never heard a thing back from them(remember I worked for this dealership for over 8 months and made them a lot of money) So my DH and I got disgusted and even though my former boss owns a Chevy Dealership too, We decided to check out the Chevy Dealership by our house, 1 blk away. So we go there on Tuesday, take a peek at the Chevy Venture van. We fall in love with it since it is the only minivan on the market to have 3 passenger seating in the center row as well as the back row but they are modular buckets so all of them come out as well. Plus, the back seat folds down 100% so you can have the entire back flat without having to remove any seats which leaves tons of cargo space. So after that, we get a bid on our car and tell him we will call him back later. We then, trudge off the the Ford dealership that we bought the Sable from 1 year ago to see what kind of bid they were going to give us on it. I didn't want the Windstar but we had to see what kind of deal we were looking at. Both Chevy and Ford had some good rebates so that was helping with the inequity of the Sable. They were about 100 bucks apart in the bid on our car so that wasn't a big deal but the rebates were 500 bucks apart from each other, Ford(2500 ends 3/5/02) and Chevy(2002 + 5.9(to qualified buyers of course) ended 2/28/02) which was the next day. So we decided that we were just going to go for the Chevy instead because of the unique seating that the van had. Okay, we go back there, come to a difference figure 16,500 or so, get our payoff {which is another story all together and some finance company might be getting there asses sued for applying two months of interest before crediting our payments against the principal and that they hold payments for 30 days even though it clears our bank right away before applying it to the principal. So now we are having our payment made in feb not included in our payoff making our payoff exactly 440 dollars higher than it should be}
    Sorry about the tangent, continuing on: Okay, now the waiting game while they submit it through finance, GMAC approves it but of course not the 5.9 because we aren't tier one customers but we get the next tier level which jumps it up 10.9 but we are getting a 2002 rebate too for a maximum of 25 k loan. We were off a little bit so we had to drain our money market account and take out a cash advance to get more money down to get to the 25K that GMAC approved us for. WE will be getting money back though from our other raping finance company from the Sable(24%) but of course not for another 6 weeks or so after they hold the dealer's check for 30 days after they make the payoff. WE don't know how much and our finance company can't tell us that(sounds suspicious) But that is okay because I have enough paperwork from them to sue their asses if they don't give us at least 500 dollars back.
    More tangents, I am sorry.
    Okay, so anyway, we are out of our Sable loan and now have 2 car loans with primary lenders, NMAC and GMAC. And two cars with low or no mileage full warranties and no need to get any more cars. We have the car that can finally fit our whole family. Thank God house hunting is still 2 years away, all this bureau pulling and buying crap has me frazzeled.

    Please tell me which CR GMAC pulled and your corresponding score. I want to get rid of my raping auto finance and want GMAC. The dealer swears that if I get my score above 600 he can get me GMAC. What score does GMAC consider 1st tier? What's on your CR that's keeping you out of 1st tier? Sorry for all the questions but you've done exactly what I need to do later this year.

    Killer, they pulled Equifax here in Missouri. I have a 637 score and Jim has a 597 with a bankruptcy only 1 year old. I didn't get first tier because you have to have scores over 700 so we got the next rate which was quite a jump. But GMAC wouldn't finance more than 25 K for us that was their limit. OUr van stickers at 28 K.

    Christi,
    I know we will have at least 7 new inquiries:( from Nissan trying to get a call on what they would lend us but they weren't doing anything so I will just dispute them right away I think. The Chevy dealership only pulled one and just faxed it to GMAC:) So only one there and they were successful.

    Melissa,

    Thanks for the reply. This info will be very useful. As for those inquiries, I think if you dispute them immediately you'll possibly create problems. They are fresh and the CRA might think fraud is happening. I would wait a short while. Just my theory. Thanks again.
