First THANKS to everybody here for helping me get back on track. I'm knocking on the 700 door. It took over 5 years but I now have the following: Prime Cards: Chase MC $8000 limit. Open since May 2003 US Bank Visa $1500 limit. Open since January 2003 Subprime Cards: Providian MC $2800 limit. Opened in 1999 28% ugh Providian Visa $6250 limit. Opened in 1999 23% First National Credit Card limit $2300 opened in 2000 Orchard Bank $1850 limit. Opened in 2000 First National Credit Card $500 limit. Opened in 2000 Auto loan with credit union since 2000 Mortgage since December of 2002 All the cards are at less than 50% utiliization. I plan to have them all payed off by August of this year. I want to DUMP all the subprime cards but don't want to take a hit on my score. I HATE Providian but they're my oldest tradeline. I've never been late on any of these accounts. Suggestions? PS: How is it that somebody that declared BK less than two years ago can have a higher score than me that has been working on this for over 5 years?
if the cards have no fee's they will be more valuable to you as added tradeline and debt ratio modifiers. I waited till i had enough prime cards (10) before i ditched most of the subprime ones. i still have my subprime crap 1 9.9% $0 annual fee card because of the oldest tradeline idea, and well they report it even if i dont have any activity.
