Does Fingerhut report to CRAs? I always thought they approved everyone and only reported if you did not pay. I am looking for another tradeline, other than a credit card. L
I think Axsys National Bank (the issuers of Fingerhut's Credit Advantage card, or whatever it's called) is about to go the way of Next Bank, so you might want to double-check to see if they're still accepting new applications. wajaba
I have Axsys Fingerhut account and they report monthly. Rep told me their old policy was to only report bad accounts but now they report all. The rep said that the company is for sale. All cards are suspended! They probably aren't taking new apps.
Thanks for the warning. Can anyone make a suggestion of a tradeline I can get with 608, 585 and 567 that will report regularly? Have enough regular credit cards with the arrival of my CapOne Platinum today. Thanks, L
whyspers, Do you have the Target Guest card? If they check the bureau that has your 608 score, you should be good to go, given your other revolving accounts. wajaba
Are there any Chevron stations near you? You will probably get approval from them and they report monthly on all 3 of my CR's.
No, but received the declined letter from them today. Too many inquiries was one, plus of course the negative entries on my credit report Maybe I should give it a rest for a while and continue my disputes, etc. I have six cards with a total of about 7K all together and am an au on two other cards for another 11K. I still have six negs (five if JCP ever gets deleted) and all but one is scheduled to fall off next year. I won't give up on the errors, but is this good for a future good score? What else can I do at this point without making things worse (ie too many inquiries)? I know this takes time and I have made a lot of progress in a short time, but I just want to do something. L
whyspers, I would just remember to keep your balances low, like around 25-35%, if possible. It's hard to do when you have relatively low-limit cards (like I do), but believe me, it makes a hee-uge difference. When my utilization dropped from ~80% to less than 30%, my CreditExpert score jumped 46 points. Just somethin' to keep in mind... wajaba
Oh geez, I was not aware of that! I thought I was supposed to max them out and pay them over time for the best results. I used to pay them all every month, but then read its better to leave a balance. I feel like an idiot now. Guess that will be my current goal. Thanks everyone for the input. L
