Applied for American Express Blue. I hope I didn't just put another inquiry on my report for nothing. Anyways, did the online and it did the standard...
"Processing application please wait---60 seconds." Well that was it. Never gave me another screen for application approved, or we need to take more time to review. (You know how at the bottom of your screen it tells you how much more time till something is completely downloaded? Well mine said done even though the same intro screen was up)
Well the lady at amex said that since it was a holiday that my application may not have been received and to call back M-F. Any opinions? I really didn't need another cc, I just wanted to do away with my cross country bank so that I could transfer. Who do they pull anyways? So hopefully I did. If not, I guess I got a free credit report out of the deal.

Give them a day to cycle then call 1-800-THE CARD. follow the prompts, and see what it tells you. Call during business hours. If it doesn't tell you, you can get a person on the phone. Good luck!

They seem to be handing out $2000 Blue cards like Cap One hands out $200 Gold cards. ;)

    Hi LAT,

This is not mean to rain on your parade. Amex has instant "Approval" depend on how high your credit score is...
Amex has some of the highest credit standards.....

Any Amex cards need at list 650 or above
Any blacklist with Amex will be denied
Any collection items are immediate disqualifiers regardless of other factors (i.e. FICO, income, etc. )

Hope this help, and good lucks!

Well, I called the number that breeze gave me....
I was denied. So I join the ranks of the other Amex flunkies lol. Oh well, probably because of the c/a stuff I am going through now. They say it's not on your credit, it is on your credit, we will put it on your credit within one conversation. I am to subprime to be blessed with Amex. Merry Christmas everyone

I thought I'd never get an Amex card, and figured I was probably even on their blacklist. Last month I was finally approved!

    Hang in there.
