I just got back a letter from CSC today and I have successfully deleted two TL's that were not mine!

I also sent new address info as my address had actually changed I also tried to get an old address deleted cause I have a judgement that I want to dispute next.

My question concerns the updated report that they sent with their investigation letter. Needless to say it doesn't look like the one that I payed for off the net, it also does not have the section for previous addresses.

Do I need to pay for a new CR in order to see if this was changed. They mention noting about it in the investigation letter either.

Thankyou in advance for your replies.

Nevermind about the old address. It was still on their, well one of them anyway. I had to research how to read the new (to me) format. Looks like they cleared off some of the old ones and have one totally screwed up one that shouldn't match any old account???

I am going forward now with the judgement that was from a family bussiness (now defunct) that should have never hit me personally, esp. since the thing was paid before the damn court date!!

Was this an online dispute or by mail?

It was a fax, I just copied my DL and a Utility bill and typed up a letter saying these two items were not mine and they deleted the two TL's and changed my current address. They did leave on one of the addresses I tried to remove.

Out of curiousity, which fax number did you use? I've looked, but there seems to be a discrepancy where these folks are located -- El Paso or Houston?

    Thanks!

I've just added 2 of the comments from this thread to my autoresponder pros@autobotinfo.com

That puts the pros ahead of the cons for the argument about how effective credit bureau disputes are.

It should be interesting to see how it turns out over time.

I've had some luck with CSC also. Disputed 2 items. My mortgage showed 30days/ 60 days and 90 days late. I disputed that I was never 90 days late, which I wasn't. However, I had been both 30 and 60 days late in the past. When I got my letter from them they had deleted all of the lates. Huray!

I also disputed 1 account as not mine and it was deleted.

I have a new round of diputes going with them and I disputed more items (5). I did these by mail and i unfortunatly they messed up! They didn't list one of the items I wanted as in dispute, and they have 3 items that they put in dispute that I didn't dispute! One is an old CC from 1987 positive TL. I seem to have better luck online. At least from an accuracy standpoint.
