I received a preapproved offer for their platinum card. Zero percent on purchases/balances transfers until December. No transaction fees. After that 7.9. Looks pretty sweet. Anyone know anything about this bank's customer service and how generous they are about initial credit limts? I was totally debt free until 4/15 when I had to pay out 13K for taxes. Now I'm looking to move this balance over to a zero percent card.
Dave, I was just wondering what does your credit look like? What are your FICO? I had recently got a guarenteed acceptance from discover, This doesnt mean I am going to be accepted. With my Fico in the 560's it just aint going to happen. So make sure you are credit worthy before getting a hard inquiry.
Tux, my credit is ok for the offer I think. EXP FAKO is 745, EQ is 710 and TU was 709 last month. I'm currently showing 2% usage on cards. I want to spread the 13K around so that no single card has a balance greater than 50% of the limit. I just received two cards that I could transfer to. One has a zero offer and the other at 1.9--both for six months and no transfer fees but the total limits on these cards is 12K so I'm tempted to get one more to make it work. Besides if I'm going to go crazy making apps. I might as well do it all at once. Then I'll start taking my meds again. <g>
I have an account with them. The interest rates they give are generated quarterly by the computer system. I am still trying to get them to reissue my card since it is their policy not to issue a CC if you have a BK on your record - no card, no matter how long your relationship with them, this is what was coming from the CSR's and CR's I finally was able to get to one of the Manager's (called the executives offices) over Credit Ops (there are two) her name was Michelle Leo. She did say that they make exceptions to the rule. my score from the AR they pulled was between 650-675, as she couldn't give me the exact number. She did state that this was high enough for them to reissue my CC, but will need to do a hard pull on my report, before sending me a card. Since I'm in the middle of buying a house, I told her to wait until after closing, and she agreed with me. At least they are nice enough to report the account has open, and not closed. Hope my Ramblings helped.... PolarisA3
I do not know anything about obtaining their cards, since they bought out (I assume) a card I had in college (First Bankcard). But I will say that I have found CS to be *great*! Even with all the crud I put them through, they continued to work with me and work with me. I never got nasty calls from them (they did call, but always pleasant and asking what I could do/when I could do it). I don't think I ever talked to a rude CSR. The only problem I have had (and probably they were doing me a favor!) was that when I finally finished paying them off, they closed the account and made it vanish from my credit report. Which was great to remove that looong history of late pays, but not so great since I had been on time and current for the last 2 years so it showed some redemption. Oh well! Hope that helps...
