I just closed my account with First Premier. What's amazing is that they tried extra hard to keep me from closing the account. They were selling and selling me to stay but I basically told them...no CL increase, no more business from me. Providian and FCNB were more than happy to close me on request. What I told First Prem is that the fees are ridiculous! Also, I told the retention lady that charging me to use the online payment system when Cap One and Providian DO NOT is ridiculous. I know this will hurt my score (4-5 months I have had this) for closing this early but I felt I needed to exercise my god given right as a consumer to tell them I am not happy with their service. I even told them that Cap One has been more than gracious, gave me CL increases and has been nothing but perfect.
