I am new to these boards and have a question about dealing with a 30 day late reported by First Premier. I have slowly been rebuilding my credit and had a First Premier card for a few years and used it wisely. However this past spring I stopped using all my credit cards to save for a house. First Premier continued to charge my card $6.00 a month, even when I hadn't used it in 4 months! I called them to dispute it and get the charges reversed and had a rather terse conversation with one of their reps. She made me so angry that I closed the account on the spot after confirming that the $6.00 fees and the late charges would be reversed. (Which the were.) Then last month I get an alert that my FICO score has dropped more than 40 points (I do have a high balance on one card right now). I pulled my report and First Premier reported me as 30 days late! I haven't had a late payment anywhere in 6 years and they just dinged me badly. I do have the statement proving that they reversed the charges and the account was current. So what do I do? Can I dispute this and if so, what kind of letter do I send them? Much thanks!
Do I contact First Premier or CRA Bumping this up again, any direction is greatly appreciated. I've learned a ton since joining and really want to get my quest started off the right way. tx -- sl
