I just got my first response back from TU, they didnt do anything for me. They only sent me a letter that makes no sense. It basically says thanks for contacting us and it lists the FCRA guidelines, and another paper says if I would like to contact a creditor about the information they report I may do so at: and it gave me their addresses. TU said nothing about the accounts I was disputing, 2 of the 3 are really not mine. What do I do next? They basically just ignored me.
"I am in receipt of your NONRESPONSIVE pseudo-response, etc". Go right to procedures 800. http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=409181#post409181 .
butch, as always thanks for your response, but i dont understand? TU never verified the TL, they just basically told me to contact the CA and gave me their address.
The letter you got is SOP for TU, and doesn't mean anything, except they received your disputes. You need to wait out the entire 30 days before you panic. I, as well as many others have received this letter, but your disputes continue.
hmmm... Is that just a confirmation that his dispute was received? Or is it the notification of the result? When did you send your dispute to TU 800? ???
Thanks jlynn, thanks butch. here's what the letters say. Are these the SOP letters youre talking about? TU received my note on 2/19, and their letters are dated 2/25. The first letter letter says: Thank you for contacting TransUnion. Our goal is to maintain complete and accurate information on your credit report. We have provided the information below in response to your request. Re: credit report If you would like to contact a creditor regarding the information they havereported to transunion about you, you may contact them at the address and telephone number, if available, below. ca#1 ca#2 address etc.... address etc.... phone # etc..... The second letter in the envelope says: Thank you for contacting TransUnion. Our goal is to maintain complete and accurate information on your credit report. We have provided the information below in response to your request. Re: policy for information retention The fair credit reporting act allows: -(then list all information about the fcra) - - If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact TU at the address shown below, or visit us on the web at www.transunion.com for general information. Do these letters mean they are investigating? To me it seems like they are telling me to get lost. As always, your help is greatly valued and appreciated. Thanks in advance.
800, Sounds like this is just a confirm of your dispute. Might have to wait out the 30 days and see what happens. Unless you think this is their final determination. .
