Hi..I am sure some of the questions I have will be the same ones you see a lot. I have been reading MUCH info on the site and it's great. Just a few questions I have. I am preparing to send out my first letter tomorrow. I got a letter from a CA and got typed out the validation letter, but then wasn't sure.
1- Do you send out the validation letters to the CA's???
2- Or does that go to the OC??
3- Cease and desist letter to CA and then a validation letter to OC?
I'm just verifying with you guys. I don't want to make a mistake. I thought validation to CA, but then wasn't sure even after re-reading some things.
I read where you should keep checking on your CR often for deletions, activities, etc.
1- How often should you pull these?
2- Does it not lower your score each time they are pulled?
3-what do you mean by soft or hard pulls?
I appreciate your patience on this and I'm sure I will have more questions. THANKS!

    Let's see:

    1. Yes
    2. No
    3. No, validation letters go to CAs, but you can use a C&D on a CA you never want to hear from again. They are allowed to contact you afterwards if they are suing you.

    1. As much as you'd like or can afford.
    2. No -- when you pull your own report it does not lower your score.
    3. A soft inquiry is one that does not count towards calculating your credit score. Examples include you pulling your own report, or an existing creditor checking up on your other accounts. A hard inquiry (in theory) results in you applying for credit,

As a rookie, I've found Privacy Guard very helpful - purely for the access to all three reports (and 1 score) everyday for 90 days for the trial price of $1.
