NiceGuy - we should coordinate these apps.

This is odd, haven't received the card yet - it said I would receive it in 7-10 days on screen, so I call and get transferred to new accts since no acct is in system; they say letter went out today and that my APP is in "limbo" until I send in copy of DL, Utlity Bill, and Pay Stub.

The screen said approved and listed my credit limit almost two weeks ago. I asked if it was still approved and they just say in "limbo" until receipt of items. I said what does my online approval mean then and they say -- well, it still has to be reveiwed by a human and we need these items sent in....

    HUH?

    Is this standard protocol?

Niceguy, Yeah it sounds right for smaller banks to do a manual check. What I have found out that a lot of smaller banks just dish out the cc operations to bigger banks (MBNA and the like).

It's up to you if want this kind of hassle.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

I sort of feel like the inquiry has already been utilized so I should follow through, otherwise it would be a waste.

On the other hand, I guess I could look for alternatives -- I just couldn't find anything else that was as low as Prime + 1.9%. Maybe I will look at a rewards card instead...

    Any other suggestions?

Send in what they want. As someone said, they're a smaller bank, and they're giving you a pretty hefty credit line.

Many times the small banks, while harder to get started with, turn out to have some of the best deals. This sounds like a good one!

Thanks, Hedwig. I think I will send in the docs, don't want to wast an inquiry, especially one on Equifax which it seems like everyone pulls here in NC!

Would they even bother asking for docs if they weren't going to approve for other reasons?

My guess is that they need to speak with you and make sure that you are who you are.

    Best regards,

I think you're really approved, but like Mirage said, they just want to check you out.
