Okay esteemed board members - here's my dilemma. Applied for Readers Digest Platinum. FUsa CS tells me - looks like ur approved - but they need u to send in phone bill, utilities bill etc. HOWEVER - they do not know what I'll be approived for. The problem is that this Platinum card has good terms - 2.9% balance transfer - low apr 9.24% after 6 mos - avg daily balance with 25 day grace period. BUT - if ur not approved for the Plat - u automatically get the standard card which has unfavorable terms. The 2.9% intro rate is only for 5 mnoths - the ongoing is 13.24 afterwards - and - worst of all - they apply the 2 cycle avg daily balance thing. SO - my question - to those who have experience with First USA: will my 695 experian score - 13% credit utilization and 3 inquiries (including theirs) within the last 6 months - oldest tradeline 4.5 years - get me the Platinum? Or will I get screwed with their standard card? Any First USA experts with educated guesses will be most appreciated! Thanx in advance. Mark Los Angeles
copied and pasted my response from the other thread with this question: Mark, I think you should be able to get the platinum. Ron and Ender also have FUSA cards. I recently got 2 and combined them, my fiance recently got 1 as well. My Experian score was 690 something I think. And I have a lot more inquiries. btw - both of mine were platinum, my fiance's too.
Solzy- I had two in the past 6 months - before fusa's inquiry - which makes it 3 And I think 5 over the past 12 months - before the fusa inquiry
I applied for two different cards a little over a week apart in March. In addition to the two FUSA inquiries, I had the following: Jan. - 5 inquiries Nov. - 1 inquiry I also had some that were older than 6 months.
(I am obsessed with this question right now....) How long until the FUSA account appeared on your EXP?

Mark LA ======================= Can you say bait and switch?
you're TOTALLY right lb59! it was dumb to apply, i'll admit it! i would prefer to be approved or denied for the platinum only! btw - the application is still pending - it's been almost 3 weeks.
