(POSTING THIS AGAIN- WILL BE GRATEFUL FOR ANY INFO)

I applied for the Readers Digest Platinum card. Yeah - I know it's First USA - and I know alot of board members have warned against Fusa - but this one comes with average daily balance - not the traditional 2 cycle one - and someone once told me that Fusa behaves better with their cobranded cards. It's not that i'm a Readers digest reader - but the card has other rewards (Marriot, Macys) that I was interested in.
Anyhoo - the internet application said "needs further processing" and on the phone today cs told me they're asking for phone bill, utitlities bill and photocopy of ssn.
The thing is if it ain't the Platinum - I'm not interested (the standard card has less benefits and applies the 2 cycle thing) however cs at fusa doesn't know what i'm going to be approved for yet.
Does anyone have any experience with Fusa's score requirements for Plat?
    They checked Experian.
My score at that time (probably dropped now) was 695.
    Credit avail: 87%
2 inquires in the last 6 mos (3 now with thiers)
    Oldest tradeline 4.5 yrs
    No negs, no derogs, etc.
Thanx in advance for any info

Sometimes they need extra docs for the proof of your identity because you applied on the internet. If they're not going to give you the card, they won't ask for that. I have applied for First USA card on-line and they didn't require me to provide extra documents because I have credit card account with them. By the way, I don't have any problems with First USA so far after I had account for over 3 years.

One very GOOD thing about FIRST USA...H/H INCOME...

    >Yes, My credit history is clear of bankruptcy.
    >Yes, My credit history is clear of seriously delinquent accounts.
    >Yes, I have NOT been denied credit by Bank One or First USA Bank within the last 6 months.

I know many people don't like first usa, but they were the only ones willing to work with me before my bankruptcy...making the payments and interest rate reasonable. I was able to catch up that account, but unfortunately no one else was so forth coming. I liked First USA and felt they were very reasonable.

When they (FIRST USA) "JACKED" my interest rate to 22.49% for NO reason...I could no longer do business with them...

    I REPEAT...BEFORE I WAS "JACKED" I LIKED THE COMPANY!!!

THIS MAY BE YOUR ONLY REASON YOU WOULD BE DENIED---->Yes, I have NOT been denied credit by Bank One or First USA Bank within the last 6 months.

    George,

there's something I've never quite understood. Yes they jacked you, yes you were pissed, but why close the accounts? Why not in the sock drawer? Don't you think having an open empty $72000 limit card would substantially boost your scores?

George - when they jacked you did you talk to a manager?

I know it's a dumb question, but FirstUSA does bend their rules for someone who has a lot of credit with them, especially 72k!
