What do you guys think of this card? I received an offer for it today, it says up to 1% cash back, (but doesnt list the tiers), and a 9.9% fixed rate. Is it worth accepting? They use two cycle billing...
I'd try for the Umbrellabank card some of us have gotten this last week. Neither of their unsecured cards has an annual fee. The Platinum is 9.9% and has a rewards feature, and the Classic only has a 10.9% rate. They do not use two-cycle billing. And all of this with a soft inquiry. It's pretty hard to beat. The down side is that to get the card with a soft inquiry you have to apply for a checking account and fund it with at least $100. However there is no minimum balance so I don't see why you couldn't just take your money right back out with your ATM card. The card you were offered today sounds great except for that two-cycle billing "feature".
DaveLV: First of all, I'd like to use this opportunity to thank you for buying me a drink at Caesar's Palace bar. It was a pleasure meeting you. Hope to see you again in Vegas next year. Although Umbrella Bank is not very good. My fiance has had an account there for a while. We don't really use the account mostly because they have trouble posting the payments in a timely manner. We were sick of getting late charges when we paid the account on time. They seem to take weeks before they post a payment. Customer service is only available during normal working hours (no evenings or weekends).
