I tried to get a credit limit increase on my Cap1 card, but was denied because of a delinquency on my credit report. I'm now in the middle of getting the report fixed because the delinquency was not actually mine, but my dad's (we have the same name. sigh!) Once my credit report is fixed, how often does Cap1 let you request an increase? It is a bad report due to an error, but Cap1 probably doesn't care about that. Is there a minimum of once every 30-60-90 days or something? Just curious.
RE: Fixing Cred Rpt + Cap1 Car If it was due to an error, as soon as the error is corrected, give them a call and let them know what happened.
RE: Fixing Cred Rpt + Cap1 Car You can also request the credit bureau send a copy of your corrected report to Capital 1. I'm pretty sure the CRA has to by law.
