I received BT convience checks for BT from Fleet and they give me 2 choices. First choice they gave the rate of 1.9% 2% fee for 6 months expires on July,2002. Second one is: they gave me 6.9% fixed APR no BT fee for 12 months which expires on January 2003. They have 2 different colos checks which distinguish between 1.9%(blue) and 6.9% fixed APR (yellow). By the way, I keep it for buying a new computer since I don't have anything to owe. I have to use the check before February 15. Ron.
Ron- I did the math on that one and for me using the higher rate offer (with fee) on $1,500 was better than the lower rate offer. Not much (like $40 difference or so). One other note - this applies to Fleet and Chase - make sure your checks POST by the expiration date on them. Otherwise, they can post them as a regular cash advance (OUCH!). I made this oops with both, and was able to get the fees reversed. Chase looks at check # to determine which offer it applies to - I've had them "extend" offers by giving them check #s. Good luck- mj
Actually Fleet has two different color for you to distinguish the offer and the check no. for them which offers you accepted. If I choose I will pick the longer terms with bt fees. BT fees is 2% of the transaction amount minimum $5 $35 maximum.I may take that offer to buy a new computer and sold my old one. Ron.
