I had a credit card with Advanta (or someone Advanta bought) back in the early 90's. It was charged off prior to Fleet purchasing the account from Advanta (I think 96 or 97). This was fully paid off shortly thereafter. I received a letter from Fleet on Sept 23, 1998 that my account was being serviced by them. I never had an account with Fleet. It was charged off and paid prior to this "purchase". Now, Fleet is reporting as paid collections and reporting until 2008. This is not possible since 7 years is the max. I think 2002 or 2003 is correct. I have disputed and disputed. Always verified. What is my next step? Thanks for the help.
