    Hi all,

Does anyone have this card? Is it any good?

I was thinking about applying. I haven't applied for anything this year yet, and it's killing me.

A whole month & a half. My resolution was not to apply for anything until June or July 2002. I'm having a relasp.

Anyway, back to the topic, what's the scoop on this card?

    Thanks

I just got an offer in the mail for the Platinum Smart Visa --

    - 0% on purchases through 12/02
    - 9.99% Fixed after that
    - "No Hassle" Features
    - $0 balance transfer fees
    - $0 over-limit fees
    - no telemarketing

Not a bad deal, even for Fleet :)

You may want to see if you can get that- otherwise, the Fusion is just "another" smart card.

    $wealth$,

I have Fleet Fusion Card for over a year and the card didn't have any bonus reward without annual fee. If you want any airmiles, you need to pay annual fee.I don't know whether the smart card reader is free or not. The rate of Fusion that I have is 11.99% fixed and the current rate 11.99% var. By the way, you can apply on-line. By the way I didn't get instantly approved. If you don't have any Fleet card, they may send you a letter to verify address.
    They pull credit from Experian.

    Ron,

I'm hoping I have a good shot at it. I already have their Business Credit Card. Do you think this will hurt or help?

Also, what type of credit limits do they give on this card. I really can't use another card with 1k to 3k limit. I hoping for at least 10k Were they generous with your intial cl?

    Thanks for your response.

    $wealth$,

I have Edvance card with them and they didn't verify anything from me. By the way the system didn't give me instantly approved. They intially approved me for $5000.

    Ok this helps.

Last few questions if you don't mind. If you remember, which CRA did they pull for you and what range was your score?

    Thanks

They pulled credit report from Experian and I live in Texas. Sorry, I didn't know what score that I have.

Here in New England they pull Equifax.

When we first got a card, the initial limit was $7500 - that was with few bankcards already. They're sticklers about giving you too much available credit.

They're also very conservative about limit increases - 9 months betwen increases, and if you ask for it, they do a hard inquiry. If the computer grants one, it's normally 10-20%.

    Good luck,
    mj

    mj,

I got increased for my Fusion Card and Edvanced Card for every 9 months and they didn't pull hard inquiry on my report. Every 9 months they increased $2000 each time.

    Ron & mj,

Overall are you satisfied with your Fleet Fusion Card?

I am still thinking about applying, maybe by the end of the week.

Oh yeah, do you have the blue Fusion or the yellow fusion? Is there a difference?

    thanks

    $wealth$,

I have Fusion card and it looks good but no rewards. I have Blue Fusion Card when they first introduced over a year ago. I didn't find any use for the card reader like my First USA Smart Visa and Target Visa.
It's something special if you don't have any smart card credit card.
From time to time they sent you the convience checks for transferring balances from other credit cards. Today they sent me three convience checks that offer 3,9% fixed rate until July 2002 with 2% transaction charge(min.$5, 50 max.)
