A friend of mine owes quite a bit of money on her fleet and nordstrom cards, around $6000 each. She just lost her job and was wondering if she can't pay what are the chances that she will get sued? My understanding from this board is that generally a lawyer doesn't get involved unless the debt is closer to $10000. Anyone have experience with Fleet or Nordstrom? I wasn't able to find much searching the database.

I've seen post here and on other sites that Cap1, Discover and, Sears are suing over $400 and $500.

I know I've heard that discover is very aggressive which doesn't surpise me at all--they're sharks for sure!

That's enough to sue for. If it will be sued or not is something nobody can say for sure except the creditor, and they may not have made up their mind yet.
