Ford Warns Credit Customers Of Theft Suspects Reportedly Gained Access To Database Posted: 8:25 a.m. EDT May 16, 2002 Updated: 8:45 a.m. EDT May 16, 2002 FBI officers in Detroit are investigating how thieves posed as Ford Motor Credit Company personnel. The suspects gained access to a database used by credit-reporting agency Experian, Local 4 reported. Ford is now warning customers with credit accounts to watch for theft or any suspicious activity on monthly account statements. The suspects downloaded information on 13,000 people from Experian. About 400 of them were Ford Credit customers and about 610 of the victims lived in Michigan. Too bad my problems are with Trans Union and Equifax.
